How do we handle the secondhand electrical and electronic equipment ?
All collected electrical and electronic equipment will be inspected and repaired by Registered Technicians. Proper functioning and safety are needed to be ensured before donate to other individual client or non-profit agency for use. For items which are workable but with no request for application for donation, will be placed for charity re-sell. All sales income will be used for service development.
Any items which are non-repairable (or the repairing cost is too high) or too old to be donated, WEEE project will pass these items to a dismantle contractor and they will dismantle into and separate those items, e.g. iron, steel, copper wire and electronics. These recyclable materials will be sent to recyclers for recycleing. This would help to reuse of usable materials, reduce the amount of waste, and lower the social cost.
