The service was established in 1987 and has since extended from a group and community work unit to become a Community Centre for Wanchai residents. It provides a wide range of wholehearted services to those who live, study, and work in Wanchai, encouraging them to take a more active role in the community.
 
Since 2020, the "Community Centre Services" have been renamed as "Community Development Services," reflecting the department's continuous focus on and response to evolving social needs. Over the years, the service scope has gradually expanded from Wan Chai to various service points across Hong Kong.
 

We have always concerned the needs of the community. Through diverse services and projects, we aim to promote community participation, build social capital, and establish mutual support networks, fostering a caring, harmonious, and sustainable community.
